Alex & Molly’s Tanilba House Wedding – A Day of Confetti, Coldplay & Quirky Romance

On a crisp autumn afternoon in May, Alex and Molly tied the knot under the sprawling trees at the heritage-listed Tanilba House — and what a celebration it was!

From the moment I arrived, there was a sense of calm mixed with just the right amount of anticipation. Molly was tucked away in the stunning bridal suite at Tanilba House, getting ready with her mum Ann and maid of honour Chantelle, while Alex was just down the road in Raymond Terrace… briefly distracted by video games (classic pre-wedding nerves, right?).

These two self-described “halves of a whole idiot” have been friends since high school, bonding over anime, deep philosophical chats like “is the ocean technically soup?” and dragging each other out for nature walks. Their love story is full of silly moments, shared challenges, and a whole lot of laughter — and their wedding day was a beautiful reflection of just that.

The ceremony was intimate, unplugged, and deeply personal. Guests gathered under blue skies as the Coldplay piano version of A Sky Full of Stars played, with Alexs dad walking in first, carrying a photo of his beloved wife, Wendy. Molly followed soon after, arm in arm with both of her parents, to Celestial by Ed Sheeran — and yes, there were definitely a few happy tears.

Confetti rained down as they exited the ceremony — not just any confetti, but lovingly saved up over the course of a whole year by family and friends. (We may have spent a solid few minutes picking it out of Molly’s hair afterwards — worth it.)

Tanilba House provided the perfect blend of old-world charm and natural beauty. From the frangipani tree out front to the gorgeous conservatory and leafy garden paths, it was an absolute dream to photograph. We stole some time away for portraits before the reception kicked off, soaking up the golden light and capturing all the little glances and giggles that make these two so special.

Inside, guests enjoyed a relaxed dinner, heartfelt speeches, and plenty of laughs. Instead of cake, there were donuts (because obviously), and instead of a formal band, an interactive music set had everyone smiling. Personal touches were everywhere — from handmade origami favours to mini Lego versions of the couple!

Alex and Molly’s wedding was everything they wanted it to be — relaxed, fun, and full of heart. The vibe was less “perfectly posed” and more “let’s make memories” — and I couldn’t be more honoured to have been a part of it.

Thank you both for trusting me to capture your day. May your future be filled with joy, silly jokes, nature walks, video game marathons, and a never-ending supply of soup-related debates. 💛
