Your sweetest and funniest proposal stories!

During 2019 we collected a bunch of engagement stories, both from weddings we photographed and people we spoke with. Some made us laugh, some made us cry. And maybe a few of these stories will inspire your own proposal.  If you have or know of an engagement story that I can add, feel free to send it to me!  *(photos don’t necessarily match the couple shown).  I proposed to my husband just after midnight so it Read more…

Hunter Valley Wedding – Chantelle & Rawdon

Chantell & Rawdon were married in the Hunter Valley at Leogate Estate Vineyard. It’s a gorgeous spot for a wedding with the views of the Brokenback Ranges. This lovely couple said their vows under postcard-perfect blue skies and in front of their family and friends – and what beautiful families these two are blessed to have. After the ceremony, we headed off for a few photos together in the cutest combi van I have ever Read more…

Central Coast Wedding – Kristen & Kyle

Kristen & Lyle were married at the lovely Kangy Angy Gardens on the Central Coast. It was my first time here and I instantly fell in love with all the details around the property – especially the indoor/outdoor chapel area. The ceremony was full of laughs and like most weddings with kids in the bridal parties, they almost stole the show! Thanks for trusting me to take your wedding photos, it was such a gorgeous Read more…

Kind Edward Park Wedding – Adrienne & Adrian

Adrienne & Adrian (the same name wasn’t confusing at all #not!!!) were married at the beautiful King Edward Park in Newcastle. It was the first 30+C day of the season, but with the ocean breeze, you couldn’t even tell how warm it really was. One of my favourite moment of the day way when Adrienne came out in her wedding dress for the first time – she was just beaming, it was so beautiful to Read more…

Lake Macquarie Portrait – Dayle

I think it can be super empowering having your photo taken. It gives you a chance to get outside your comfort zone – but also see the beauty within yourself. Not everyone loves to have their photo taken, including me! But I do it at least once a year just to remember what it feels like in front of the lens and not behind it all the time. So for Dayle’s photos, our plan was Read more…

Newcastle Wedding – Julie & Scott

Julie & Scott were married on the what was the rainiest day of the year. The words ‘torrential rain event’ was used in every news story leading up to the big day. And as the day arrived, it was exactly that – torrential rain (that we desperately needed). A first look! Before the ceremony Julie & Scott had a first look, this is something very common overseas, but not as much in Australia. It is Read more…

Hunter Valley Engagement: Courtney & Blake

Yesterday I met with two fellow left handers Courtney & Blake – it’s not often you can say that! We wandered around the Hunter Valley taking some fun engagement photos while talking all about their up coming wedding. Meeting and taking photographs before the wedding day makes it so much easier for the couples on the wedding day as they aren’t nearly as nervous about being in front of the camera as I just blend Read more…

Port Stephens Wedding – Rachel & Frank

This was a first for me … a wedding on a boat! Rachel & Frank said ‘I do’ on board Moonshadow TQC in the beautiful Port Stephens. They got ready at The Anchorage not too far from the marina, so we were able to take full advantage of being on land and wandering around the grounds taking a few photos before they officially said ‘I do’. The onboard ceremony was beautiful and surrounded by their Read more…

Hunter Valley Family Session – Corunna Station

Family photos are so much fun. Not only are they full of giggles and family bonding, but it’s such a great way to document the kids and grown-ups and freeze a moment in time. For this session, I was invited out to Corunna Station in the Hunter Valley for a family photo session. The property itself is set on 100 acres of private rural property and is the largest sheep shearing station in the Hunter Read more…

Tocal Homestead Wedding – Jess & Beau

Jess & Beau were married at Tocal Homestead under a magnificent mature Moreton Bay Fig tree that frames the Homestead lawns, it was the perfect spot for their wedding. The day started for me with the bridal party of ladies getting ready and practicing for the biggest surprise the groom was ever going to see … a dancing flash mob!! Yes, Jess was planning to surprise her soon to be husband with a flash mob Read more…
