Nicole & Michael’s Wild & Wonderful Swansea Elopement – From Air, Land & Sea

After almost two decades, these two finally made it official — and in true Nic and Mick style, their wedding day was anything but ordinary!

Nicole and Michael, two down-to-earth legends from country NSW, eloped in the coastal town of Swansea, surrounded by 30 of their closest family and friends (and a whole lot of laughs). After 19 years engaged — yep, you read that right — they figured it was about time. Their ceremony was casual, fun, and filled with the kind of joy that only comes from two best mates who’ve truly seen it all together.

Their backyard-style ceremony took place at their family home in Swansea. No bells and whistles. No strict formalities. Just a whole lot of love, laughter, and a ribbon-tying ceremony that symbolised the unbreakable bond they already live every day.

As their photographer, I had the absolute pleasure of capturing this celebration from air, land and sea — literally.

From sweeping drone views over Swansea Heads and the stunning coastline, to sandy toes at Hams Beach and a hilarious splash in the bay, this wedding had it all. Yep, even a planned jetty jump (because of course they wanted to end the day soaked — in style). Nic was more than happy to get the dress wet, because, as she told me, “We’ll probably still be doing the same crazy stuff in 20 years — just a little slower!”

And that’s what made this day so special — it was raw, real, and so very them.

Nicole got ready with her crew — Jacky, Jaime, and Paige — while Mick and his groomsmen prepped just down the hall. Their vibe? Total calm. Total chaos. All at once. From early-morning jokes to fixing last-minute details, there was a real sense of “we’ve got this” — because they do.

After a heartfelt (and very honest) ceremony, we made our way down to the beach for some portraits. The light was golden, the water was warm, and the love between these two was magnetic. Whether they were casting fishing lines into the bay, leaning into each other on the jetty, or simply mucking around barefoot in the sand — every moment felt like home for them.

No reception. No cake. Just a low-key get-together afterwards with the people who matter most. It was beautifully untraditional and deeply meaningful.

Nic & Mick, thank you for letting me be a part of your long-awaited, perfectly-you day. Your story proves that love doesn’t have to be flashy or fast — it just has to be true. And from the land, sea and sky… it’s clear that yours is the real deal 💛
