A Sunset Maternity Session at Caves Beach with Raegan & Her Beautiful Family
Some photo sessions just stay with you… and this one? It was one of those extra special afternoons.
I recently had the absolute pleasure of photographing the gorgeous Raegan and her growing family at one of my favourite spots—Caves Beach. With golden light spilling over the rocks, the sound of the waves rolling in, and laughter echoing across the sand, this session was full of love, fun, and the kind of joy that only comes from a family who truly adores being together.
Raegan and her partner Callum are expecting their first baby together (due mid-August—how exciting!). I always say that maternity photography is about more than just the baby bump—it’s about capturing a moment in time that will never exist in quite the same way again. It’s the anticipation, the glow, the way your family holds onto one another a little tighter as you prepare to welcome someone new.
For Raegan, she wanted to remember how beautiful this season of life was—and how much excitement there is for what’s to come. I think we did just that. From playful sandy splashes to those quiet in-between moments where they simply held each other, every frame tells a piece of their story.
As a photographer, there’s something magical about witnessing families just be. There were no stiff poses, just a whole lot of real. They both splashed in the water, we all got a little sandy, and the setting sun wrapped us in that warm golden glow I chase in every beach session.
And yes, I was there too—grinning behind the camera the entire time.
This is why I do what I do. These aren’t just photos—they’re memories in the making. And for families like Raegan’s, I feel so lucky to be the one capturing them.
