Over 25 hot air balloons from all around the country launched together at sunrise to float over wine country at heights of up to 3.5 thousand feet each morning.

We were lucky enough to view the festival from a hot air balloon with Sean, a competitive pilot from Sydney. Sean is a former Qantas engineer who now designs and writes programs for pilots called oziTarget.

During our flight we travelled 6klms in just under an hour reaching heights of 3.5 thousand feet. Each morning there is some uncertainly about where the balloons would take off, as this is totally dependent on which way the wind blows. On this particular morning we left from Sweetwater Rd, and landed at Hope Estate.

We had a special guest on board for our flight, Jeremy brought his 73 year old dad Alex on board for his birthday; it was such a beautiful way to celebrate, the joy on Alex’s’ face from the air was priceless 🙂 Big thanks to our crew and company on board, it sure takes a village to run a fiesta, Emma, Paul, Molly, Bella and Craig!

Looking forward to next year already!![/cs_text][x_gap size=”50px”][cs_text]

And as promised, a few behind the scenes selfies! Yes, they are suppose to be upside down as this is how we landed, so much fun!
